It is with great excitement that I am writing to introduce myself! My name is Crystal Petersen, and I will be serving the community as one of the Assistant Principals for Cripple Creek-Victor School District. The community has made me feel very welcome, and I look forward to getting to know each of you as the year progresses.
My background includes work in Detroit, Michigan, Austin, Texas, and Peyton, Colorado, with over a decade of teaching experience in K-12 education. My education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Language Arts major from Wayne State University in Detroit in 2004. I then furthered my education with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Regis University in Denver in 2016. Currently, I am working to earn a Doctoral Degree in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, scheduled to commence in Winter of 2019.
My husband and I have a large family, and reside in Divide, Colorado. We enjoy nature, outdoor activities, and attending festivals and community events. My husband grew up near Orlando, Florida, while I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on Lake Superior, and we’ve grown to love both rural and urban areas. We are all very excited to join the Cripple Creek-Victor community, and hope to remain.
As the school year approaches, I am looking forward to meeting all of the wonderful students in our school district. Additionally, I look forward to partnering with parents and the community to bring the absolute best educational experience to our students and families.
In closing, please join us for out Back to School Open House and Registration night on August 8th from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. I’ll look forward to seeing you there!
