COMMUNITY ALLOCATION AND EPYCS GRANT INFORMATION

                                        AND APPLICATION FORM

Grant Criteria:

Community Allocation Grants

The EPYCS mission goal for Community Allocation Grants is to consider and recommend grant awards to the Cripple Creek Town Council for organizations or individuals that provide services to the citizens of Cripple Creek.  Community allocation grants are awarded in October and March.  An organization or individual that received community allocation funding in a previous grant period, is not eligible for another grant in the cycle immediately following unless the funding request is for a different program than the one for which the previous grant was awarded.  For example, if a program received funding in October, the agency or individual could not apply for a grant for the same program in March.

EPYCS/El Pomar Grants

EPYCS/El Pomar grant awards are guided by the following mission statement:

The Cripple Creek Victor High School EPYCS Club will consider and award grants to

501(c)(3) organizations or government equivalents that provide services to the citizens of Southern Teller County in the areas of education, sports/recreation, or the environment.

EPYCS/El Pomar grants follow a “one-year on, one-year off” policy.  If an organization received an EPYCS/El Pomar grant the previous year, it may not submit an EPYCS/El Pomar grant application for the current year.

Application Procedure:

A complete application should include the two page grant application form and a copy of the organization’s 501(c)(3) letter, if applicable.  You may also include a list of volunteer services that EPYCS students may be allowed to help with in your organization and an annual report, brochure, or other pertinent organizational material.

***Special instructions for Cripple Creek Victor school personnel who apply for grants:

Please give yourself plenty of time to prepare your grant request.  In the past we have had several school grants that were done “at the last minute”.  As a result they were poorly planned and poorly written, which resulted in the application not being granted a hearing, or if a hearing was granted, no grant award was received because the applicants could not provide requested information to support the grant.  Prior to preparing your grant, you must consult with your building administrator to determine if the money you are requesting is or should be covered by a budget line item or if the school has money from other sources, other than an EPYCS grant, to cover the needed funds.  After the grant application is completed, it must be read and approved by the building administrator before being submitted to EPYCS.  Failure to obtain this approval will result in the grant not being accepted.
