Ms. Thompson's Homework Starting With Tuesday, 5/6/08


7th Grade Science: Benchmark: 3.1.1a—Adaptations of animals; 3.1.4: study of ecology and ecosystems

Students have been working in class on researching 6 ecosystems, creating a “Biome Book”. Currently, there is no homework, rather, work is being completed in class. This is due tomorrow!

Additionally, students have some anatomical frog analysis pages to color and a safety word hunt that is due on Monday, May 13. Frog dissection is due that day. An alternate is available should a parent wish their child not participate in thea actual dissection.

8th Grade Science: Benchmark 5.2 Effects of Technology, 5.3 Benefits to society of a given technology, 5.4 Technology and Work situations, 6.2: Scientific knowledge changes over time, 6.3 Contributions of different cultures to Science over history, 1.4: Scientific Planning, Students are working on a unit: Cross-Curricular Science and History The unit is called Science Fair of History. Students are typing their first drafts beginning today of the ESSAY portion of the project. They should also be working on the other portions of their CHOICEBOARD which may include a model, poster, narrative story, etc. Please make sure you ask your student about the project. Every student has been given 4 handouts about the expecations and details of the project unit, including detailed rubrics for the grading—so everyone knows exactly what to do. No excuses!! All parts of the project are due May 8.

Students also have final exam research questions which were given out back in April. Finals week is coming in just 2 or 3 weeks! This research is homework!
